Day 1: Cultural Immersion

Welcome to your beautiful home for the next four nights! You’ll start your journey with a refreshing drink and a welcome pack. After settling in, meet your guide and fellow travelers to discover the exciting adventures ahead.

After lunch, jump into your cultural experience with a quick lesson in useful Khmer words and phrases. Then, unleash your creativity as our expert photographer shares simple tips to elevate your photography skills. With your camera in hand, head to a local market to practice your newfound techniques!

Back at base, contribute to a large collaborative artwork that you’ll continue to develop throughout the week.

In the evening, enjoy a tuk tuk ride to central Siem Reap for a leisurely stroll along the bustling riverside, followed by refreshing welcome drinks and a delicious dinner.

After breakfast, spend the morning at Theam’s Gallery, exploring a stunning collection of modern Khmer art alongside traditional artifacts.

After lunch, embark on a journey to Samatoa Lotus Farm, where you’ll discover the fascinating process of creating silk from the lotus flower.

In the evening, join Sojourner House’s regular life drawing session and sketch a live model, enhancing your artistic skills.

Start your day early for a breathtaking sunrise over the mesmerizing towers of Angkor Wat—your first glimpse of this ancient wonder. After capturing your Nat-Geo-worthy shot, enjoy a well-deserved breakfast before diving back into the adventure.

Explore Angkor Wat and other iconic temples, including Bayon, Ta Prohm, and the stunning South Gate. As the day winds down, witness the sunset over Angkor Wat before returning to the villa for dinner and a poolside movie: Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll.

This morning, dive into the bold and intricate art of block printing in a hands-on workshop, where you’ll design and carve your own prints and create postcards.

After lunch, head to Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake. Cruise past stilted villages and weave through the flooded mangrove forest, marveling at the lake’s vast size and its crucial role in the local ecosystem.

End the day with a beautifully prepared Khmer dinner and an enchanting Apsara dance performance in a stunning wooden theater.

Venture 25 km out of town to explore the jungle-encased ruins of Beng Mealea temple this morning. After a picnic lunch, continue to Koh Ker, the former capital of the Khmer Empire, where you’ll climb the impressive stepped pyramid for breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Back at base, gather for a final meal together and enjoy an exhibition showcasing what you’ve created and experienced during your time in Siem Reap!

As your journey comes to an end, we’ll ensure you leave Siem Reap with a full heart and stomach!

Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet from 6:30 – 9:30, or arrange an earlier packed breakfast if you need to check out earlier. Safe travels!
